SNTT Sametime installSpent several hours trying to install sametime today, I had no clue why or how or what caused the error, even registering a new server and a clean install kept giving the following messages in the stinstall.log function: doesNoteAlreadyExist error returned from setupLTPASupport error in SametimePSMUFunctions function: STDNASetup returning with error code = 1716 After banging my head to the wall a couple of times I noticed another error a couple lines down: There is no certificate in the Address Book. Combining the two errors I concluded that there could be a problem trying to create an SSO key if the administrator (public key) is not listed in the Domino Directory, so I changed the Administrator in the Security tab (that is the only one able to administer the sametime server for some reason) to one listed but still no luck. Convinced that the error was related to the keys I reregistered the server using the local adminstrator and after (again) a fresh install, it worked :) I did run into some 'small' problems with all kinds of services terminating abnormally (stbroadcastgateway.exe, STT120MCU.exe and stpolicy.exe), but after filling in the local IP in all the hostnames (so not only the Broadcast Gateway for client connections) and adding a line to the sametime.ini it seems to run fine now. So in short the tip: Only use a local administrator to register the sametime server!! Technorati tag: Show-n-Tell Thursday 6 February 2009  comments (0)
